How multi LLM set ups set the stage for real value
Across the companies we speak to at adtecher.com, the pattern is almost identical;
- Staff are often using personal ChatGPT or Claude accounts for company work
- There’s zero governance, zero oversight and zero audit trail
- And now some firms are buying “enterprise AI” solutions that lock them into a single model vendor/maker like OpenAI
This is a mistake…
Think of model makers like universities.
OpenAI models are trained at “OpenAI Uni”. Claude models at “Anthropic Uni”. DeepSeek, Google, Meta - each is effectively a different institution producing specialists in its own way.
Every LLM like GPT 4.1, o4-mini, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Llama 3.3, DeepSeek V3 is essentially a different consultant with different strengths, shaped by different training data.
Just as childhood experiences shape humans, the datasets shape these models. And those datasets vary massively between model makers.
Locking your entire organisation to just one “university” is a terrible strategy. It limits capability, flexibility and innovation.
No serious consultancy would ever hire human consultants exclusively from one school.
Yet that’s exactly what many stockholders are doing with their AI stack.
To make it worse, most firms don’t even have a secure process in place.
Their “integration” is literally a direct call to a single model using a staff member’s personal openAI account for example.
Where the industry is heading next is clear:
We’ll see an enterprise LLM reseller layer emerge similar to how Microsoft and AWS partner networks work today.
Trusted third parties will provide;
- enterprise-grade access to multiple model providers
- proper governance, compliance and oversight
- a secure wrapper with routing, audit logs and policy control
- freedom from vendor lock-in
A model aggregator, not a model jail.
